  • Burma:
    - 15.03.1942: Introduction of the Military Yen at 1 : 1 Indian Rupee (devaluation of ~23%)
    - Banknotes denominated in "Rupees" in the name of the "Japanese Government" with code letter "B".
    - Note: Decimal notes of 10, 5, 1 Cents circulated as ⅛, 116, 164 Rupee.
  • Malaya:
    - 23.02.1942: Introduction of the Military Yen at 1 : 1 Malayan Dollar (devaluation of ~50%)
    - Banknotes denominated in "Dollars" in the name of the "Japanese Government" with code letter "M".
    - Note: Malayan occupation notes denominated in "Dollars" were also used in Hong Kong.
  • Netherlands Indies:
    - ??.03.1942: Introduction of the Military Yen at 1 : 1 Netherlands Indies Guilder (devaluation of ~57%)
    - Banknotes denominated in "Gulden" in the name of the "Japansche Regeering" with code letter "S".
    - After 1944: Banknotes denominated in "Roepiah" in the name of the "Dai Nihon Teikoku Seihu" and "Pemerintah Dai Nihon" (for Sumatra only) with code letter "S".
    - Note: The code "S" originally stood for Sumatra (or Shōnan / Singapore out of which Sumatra was administered) but the notes were used everywhere in the Indonesian archipelago.
  • New Guinea (and Pacific Islands):
    - 15.03.1942: Introduction of the Military Yen at 10 : 1 Australian Pound (devaluation of ~42%)
    - Banknotes denominated in "Shillings" in the name of the "Japanese Government" with code letter "O".
    - Note: The code "O" stood for Oceania.
  • Philippines:
    - 03.01.1942: Introduction of the Military Yen at 1 : 1 Philippine Peso (devaluation of ~52%)
    - Banknotes denominated in "Pesos" in the name of the "Japanese Government" with code letter "P".
