- 1992-1995
- Currency situation during the de facto partition of Bosnia-Herzegovina in the civil war:
- 1. Territories of the "Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina" (officially recognized) used the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Dinar (1992).
- 2. Territories of the "Serbian Republic (Republika Srpska)" introduced the Yugoslav Dinar (1992) in July 1992. In the ongoing civil war, banknote supply from Yugoslavia could not be organised such that the Banja Luka branch of the National Bank of Yugoslavia issued paper money locally. The Yugoslav currency reform of October 1993 was implemented, the paper money for the Yugoslav Dinar (1993) was again issued locally by the Banja Luka branch of the National Bank of Yugoslavia. The short-lived Yugoslav Dinar (1994-1) of early January 1994 did not make it to the Serbian Republic, but the Yugoslav Dinar (1994-2) got introduced end January 1994. The wartime situation now allowed the supply of ordinary Yugoslav currency such that no further local issues were necessary.
- 3. Territories of the "Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosna" did not issue any specific currency regulations. Most probably, the Croatian currency got introduced immediately after the split off in July 1992.
