    - 07.06.1921: Demonetization of the Montenegrin coinage at a rate of 1 Montenegrin Perper = 1 Yugoslav Dinar (up to 5'000 Dinars) and 5 Montenegrin Perper = 1 Yugoslav Dinar (above 5'000 Dinars).

  • Italian and German occupation of Montenegro during World War II:
    - Bank of Italy was formally mandated as currency institute for the nominally independent state; Italian and later German currencies were circulating
    - Yugoslav currency was demonetized at a rate of 100 Italian Lire = 38 Yugoslav Dinars
    - 09.07.1945: Demonetization of the occupation currency after liberation at a rate of 3 Yugoslav Dinars = 1 German Reichsmark = 10 Italian Lire.
