- 1875-1922: Issuance of tokens (2nd series "Ivigtut") by the operators of the Øresund cryolite mine in Ivigtut (now Ivittuut)
- around 1910: Issuance of tokens by the operators of the Grønlands Minedrifts AS copper mine in Alangorssuaq, Julianehåb District (now Qaqortoq)

- Ordinance [No. 5] on the issuance of paper money and coins after the end of Greenlands colonial status; effective immediately (?)
- The paper money was issued in the name of the Royal Greenland Trade Office, and issuance of subsidiary coins began in 1957.
- 15.03.1967
- Law [No. 45] on the adoption of Danish paper money and coins for Greenland; effective 01.07.1967.
- 31.12.1967: Demonetization of the Greenland paper money and coins.
- 14.05.2007
- Law [No. 436] on the introduction of distinct paper money in Danish currency for Greenland by the National Bank of Denmark; effective 01.06.2007.
- The distinct paper money was rejected by the Greenland parliament (for cost reasons) in mid 2010, and the law got revoked by law [No. 155], §7, of 28.02.2012.
